New England Equal Longest Winning Streak From Brady Era with Triumph Against Jets

First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has recorded five TDs this season

The New England Patriots matched their longest winning run since the Brady period as they overcame division rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Drake Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they moved to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after dropping to two wins and eight losses

The Jets had scored first at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' initial series

But the New England answered in the second quarter as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on the rookie. "He aims to be great."

Fields found John Metchie late in the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales booted a two field goals in the final period as the home side closed out the triumph
