Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.
Additional Developments
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
