Arise, Sir David: Football Legend Honoured by the Monarch at Windsor Castle Investiture
The football icon was bestowed with a honorary title at Windsor Castle on the weekday. The ex-national team leader, fifty, was one of the individuals receiving awards for his contributions to sport and charity. In recent months, he stated he was “immensely proud” of being acknowledged in the monarch's annual honors list.
Football Career Highlights
Beckham first appeared in England's top division for Manchester United in 1995 and was a key member that earned a thrilling European Cup win in 1999 when they defeated the German giants with two late goals.
In total, he netted eighty-five scores and garnered accolades including six Premier League titles and two FA Cups as a footballer, before retiring from the sport in 2013. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has backed a variety of philanthropic initiatives, including serving as a goodwill ambassador for humanitarian aid organisation the United Nations Children's Fund since the mid-2000s.

Charitable and Other Roles
Last year, Beckham, who has described himself as a “devoted monarchist”, was named an ambassador for the royal educational charity, an non-profit organization established by the King in the early nineties. In 1998 he was named top fashion icon by GQ magazine and he has posed for brands like the fashion retailer, Armani, and the luxury label.
Beckham married his wife Victoria in 1999 and the pair have four children together – their eldest, the second son, the third child, and their daughter.
