Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring over a well-attended California coastline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Recordings posted on the internet depict the chopper starting to spin near Huntington Beach then plunging near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five individuals were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the crash on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
